Our Mission

‘Empowering Learning’

The education and welfare of your son or daughter is at the heart of everything our schools do.

The Trust is committed to the development of a high quality learning community in North Devon, where all schools strive to provide high quality education and care to young people and staff.

Our Trust aims to be a positive, caring community in which each individual child and member of staff is valued and respected. We endeavour to empower each school to develop a high quality learning environment through collaborative working to empower young people, trainees and staff to embrace learning for life.

We believe that well being, enjoyment, wider opportunities, greater progress and attainment can be achieved through strong collaboration and empowerment between schools, the Trust central team and local agencies/partners across the local area. In the Tarka Learning Partnership the Trust central team, school leaders, teachers, support staff and representatives come together to share strategic thinking and expertise. By combining talents and skills we support each other always being open to challenge. To learn more about our Trust values and commitment to our pupils, please visit our Vision and Values pages.

Being part of a Trust

The Tarka Learning Partnership was formed in July 2018 to support the development of North Devon schools.

Eden Park Academy, Sticklepath Community Primary Academy, Landkey Community Primary Academy, Roundswell Community Primary Academy (opened a Reception class in September 2020), Newport Community School Primary Academy and the Park Community School worked together for 3 years to assist in the formation of this Trust to support staff, governors and the young people of North Devon. In 2020 North Molton Primary School and Fremington Primary School joined the Trust.

The Trust gives us the opportunity to support the development of partner schools ensuring that the leadership and resources of the Trust remain focussed at the heart of our community, where the Trust can support the education and welfare of your son or daughter.
