Learning and Development at Tarka Learning Partnership
Our commitment to nurturing our young people and the leaders of tomorrow goes hand in hand with our commitment to the people who make it possible.
We are a learning organisation, committed to the on-going development of all our people, beginning with those taking their first step on a journey into teaching to the most experienced senior professionals making significant contributions to leadership.
We offer training and support to help you develop within your role or progress to the next level.
Induction
Our commitment to your development starts on your first day. As a new member of our staff team, you will receive a comprehensive induction programme to welcome you to your school. You will start to learn about our culture and our values and how they support our vision.
Whatever your role, your development will continue after this initial induction, whether it be formal training packages or on the job training.
CPD
We provide a range of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities across the Trust to help you expand and fulfil your personal and professional potential. See our CPD page for CPD opportunities.
As an educational establishment and public body operating in a highly regulated environment where pupils’ safety and well-being is at the fore, we provide a suite of mandatory training modules relevant to your role. This include Safeguarding and Child Protection, Health and Safety and Data Protection. The training supports employees in undertaking their role, meeting health and safety requirements and ensuring statutory requirements and standards are fulfilled.
But it doesn’t stop with the basics. We offer nationally accredited programmes such as primary teacher training through the Devon Primary SCITT.

We also offer a comprehensive programme of CPD for teachers and support staff through the Devon Teaching School Partnership.

Talent
We want to develop our staff team to be fully equipped to inspire, teach and support our pupils and in doing this we will identify people who will be part of the future of the schools within the Tarka Learning Partnership.
